Our Journey

MCS was first established by Mike Hobbs back in 2004 who ran the business from his car. After a few customers spread the word about his technical abilities and his friendly nature he soon had a contract with a local school, and as the business grew he soon employed his second in command; employee Andy Dodds.

As a result of the fast growing business he then moved the business to his new home address at Runnymede Road, Yeovil, where he converted part of his home garage into a workshop/office.

Over the next few years the company paid for several courses for both Mike and Andy allowing them both to serve small businesses with all their IT needs backed by many major IT qualifications.

Due to the expanding nature of the business, both residential and business customers requiring the services MCS offer, a part-time employee was needed to help man the phones and repair the pcs brought into the office.

Customers were free to bring their PCs, Macs and laptops to the office to have repaired or upgraded or an on-site visit could be made for same day/next day which was convenient for the customer.

Business customers grew very quickly and now MCS have customers throughout Yeovil and the surrounding areas; but with Hi-Tech Remote Access software they now have customers throughout the UK including London, Manchester and Bath and have spread abroad to places including Jersey, France, Spain and Dubai.

In October 2009, MCS employed Andrew Baldwin. With a background of over 9 years in PC repair for domestic customers Mike believed that Andrew could help relieve the pressure of the large domestic customer base that has built up, allowing Andy and himself to concentrate on giving small businesses the IT support they require without letting down any new or existing customers.

The latest movement for the company has been a relocation to Pen Mill Trading Estate. This much needed expansion of property is now the focal point for the team. MCS - Computer Support Centre, Unit 3 Babylon View, Oxford Road, Pen Mill Trading Estate, Yeovil, BA21 5HR was opened Monday 4th April 2011.

The new space and structure at MCS, has allowed the company to take on an apprentice. Jack Palmer joined MCS in August 2011 which we hope, that with support, can be a great asset to us and our customers, and in turn can gain qualifications and knowledge.

MCS have the facilities and the manpower to help both business and domestic customers; both in the workplace, in the new Computer Support Centre, in the home and abroad.
